Lighting Designer
Hoare Lea Lighting is looking to recruit a lighting designer for their London office. The successful candidate will have some lighting design experience and be used to working within a lighting design team on a variety of projects. The position would require good communication skills, great team working ability, a working knowledge of lighting design and an ability to express ideas visually and verbally.

Hoare Lea Lighting is currently working on a number of high profile projects in the UK and around the world. The lighting designer’s role will be to work with the London team to produce conceptual lighting design information, provide detailed lighting integration information, attend meetings, liaise with the design team and provide project support for all RIBA stages.

General Requirements:

A degree in design, architecture, interior design or similar creative disciplines

Experience of lighting consultancy within a design practice

An excellent working knowledge of lighting design calculation tools, AutoCAD, Photoshop and Office

Ideally knowledge of Sketch-Up, Rhino 3D, 3DS Max and three dimensional design tools

Experience of communicating with architects and interior designers on live projects

Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines

Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)

Highly motivated and able to accept project responsibility

A portfolio demonstrating an ability to conceptualise lighting designs and oversee these to project completion

Preferably interested in design, art, architecture or visual media
